Liezl and Ernie Els established The Els for Autism Foundation in 2009. The Els’ family is impacted by the disorder which affects 1 in 68 children in the U.S. The world class pro golfer and his wife are devoting their efforts to a catalytic philanthropic project - The Els Center of Excellence. Created as an epicenter to connect the international autism communities, the facility creates shared best practices and latest research for improved collaboration. The 26-acre facility provides on-site education for 300 students, ages 3-21 years old. Services include early intervention, therapeutic, medical and professional in addition to research, transition to adulthood, and on-site job training.

#Gameon golf Program
Is an innovative program that has been developed in collaboration with PGA REACH and The First Tee and is especially tailored for individuals on the autism spectrum. Infused with evidence-based practices for teaching golf to individuals with ASD, #GameON Autism Golf is designed to build self-esteem and confidence in a fun, welcoming and supportive environment; encouraging participants to learn golf skills while practicing specific autism learning concepts, including: communication, regulatory, motor and social skills.
#Gameon golf at First tee -aiken
In 2016, First Tee- Aiken was selected as a #GameON Golf pilot location. To further the mission of Els for Autism and First Tee -Aiken, #GameON Golf classes will be offered in 2019 and beyond.
